Our new home page design

by on July 3, 2013

The new home page now has full notes in the activity feed, making it more of a “dashboard” for Findery — you no longer have to go to another page to see the full note, and you can leave comments on it inline. We’ve enlarged each of the sections — You, Following, and Recent — so you can see additional context around the activity in the stream, adding clips of the notes that have been commented on or favorited. Putting Recent Activity on the left also gives it the right emphasis — it’s the most important thing on the page.

Also new is the “Notes around the World” section, featuring Findery Favorites. It refreshes every time you reload the page, and will give you a sense of the great depth of notes on the site. You can surf through them using the arrows.

Notes all over Findery share the same new design when they are in list view — map at the top, place name below the map. We are also collapsing comments into a drawer that can be opened up, to make viewing things in list views easier.

We hope you like the new changes, as always, let us know any feedback and comments in the forums.
