Thank you internet! Oscar found the place his grandfather stood
I love the internet. Oscar Falcon posted a photo of his grandfather, taken somewhere in San Francisco, next to a place called Lara’s Shop, and asked Findery members to help him find the location. Within a half hour it had been found, with the help of Fredster, with donald and ryancnelson following on. It was taken next to Bernstein’s Fish Grotto, a restaurant built in 1907 with a fascinating history.
We hadn’t envisioned Findery as a way of identifying places in photos, but it looks like crowdsourcing this kind of thing could be, well, a thing.
I have a few of these lying around. I think I’ll tag them “helpmefindery“. You should too.
